Since its creation in April 2023, Azul TecOps, Azul's business unit, has stood out in the aeronautical market, offering technical services specialized in aircraft maintenance. For 2024, projections are optimistic, with estimates of double-digit growth, demonstrating the continued advancement and consolidation of this promising business unit.
With initiatives aimed at servicing aircraft in both the civil and military sectors, Azul TecOps has already gained a diversified portfolio of Customers in Brazil and abroad. In just one year of operation, it was possible to serve many national and international customers, demonstrating the trust placed in the services provided by the company.
One of the company's initial milestones was the g of a contract with Airbus Defense & Space for technical and logistical to the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), involving technical for the KC-30 aircraft (A330-200). The services are carried out at Azul's facilities in Campinas (SP), which in addition to being one of the company's main operational centers, also houses the main connection hub. When necessary, services are carried out at other bases, such as the Brazilian Air Force facilities at Galeão International Airport.
In addition to the contract with Airbus Defense & Space, Azul TecOps has provided services to other prominent Customers, such as the French Air Force, Atlas Air and Modern Logistics.
Another important milestone was the g of a Technical Cooperation Agreement with Boliviana de Aviación. These partnerships reinforce Azul TecOps' commitment to expanding its operations and strengthening its presence in the market.
Additionally, Azul TecOps obtained the prestigious certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to carry out maintenance services on aircraft and components from European Union companies. This certification, valid for two years and renewable, was achieved as part of a bilateral agreement between the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) and EASA, which aims to simplify approval procedures for maintenance organizations.
The Azul hangar in Campinas, located next to Viracopos airport, is one of the largest and most advanced in Latin America, with 35 thousand square meters. This complex, which will complete four years of operation, has the capacity to handle multiple lines of heavy maintenance, modifications and special stops for the entire Azul fleet and other airlines.
In addition to maintaining aircraft, the hangar houses dozens of specialized workshops, including wheels and brakes, engines, structures, batteries, oxygen and emergency equipment. This approval by EASA also extends to Azul's maintenance facilities in Belo Horizonte, at Pampulha airport. With more than 14 thousand square meters, these facilities serve the ATR, Embraer 195 E1, Boeing and Pilatus fleets, providing heavy maintenance services, special stops and preservation.
