The USAF Bomber Task Force is in full swing. Among the overflights in regions of the European continent and in areas of the Indo-Pacific, the B-1B Lancer has been carrying out training with some allied air forces, as was the case of Norway that sent its brand new stealth fighters F-35A Lightning II to carry out missions of integration and training with the B-1B Lancer supersonic strategic bombers. The flight between the aircraft took place yesterday, May 20.
“Today, we perform complex air operations with advanced systems – both on the ground and in the air”, says Lieutenant Colonel Ståle Nymoen, commander of the Norwegian 332 Squadron. “This is an important training arena for integrated training. This allows us to operate together and exchange information with other allies,” said Nymoen.
In addition to this flight with Norwegian fighters, the bombers also performed Task Force flights with Swedish JAS 39 Gripen fighters, with Danish F-16 fighters and Poland's F-16 and Mig-29 fighters. In addition to conducting training with English Eurofighter Typhoon fighters.
The B-1B Lancers in question are from the USAF's 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota. The bombers also performed overflights in neutral waters of the South China Sea from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam.
