Bat in cabin sends Air India 777 back to Delhi

A “different enger” in the form of a bat caused an Air India flight from Delhi to Newark (USA) to return to its origin airport in the Indian capital. The incident took place last Thursday (27).

According to information on the portal Aviation Herald, the AI-105 flight of the Indian company, operated by a Boeing 777-300 registration VT-ALM, had already lasted 25 minutes, at an altitude of 30 feet (about 9144 meters) and 203 kilometers from Delhi when the crew decided to abort and return to the airport of origin after a bat started flying through the enger cabin. 

After returning, flight AI-105 was carried out by another 777-300, registration VT-ALU, arriving in Newark, in the US state of New Jersey, 3.5 hours late. India's Directorate of Civil Aviation said the jet involved in the bat incident had been fumigated.
