On October 10th, the capital of Pará will celebrate one of the main cultural events in Brazil and the world. Held for more than two centuries, the Círio de Nazaré brings together more than two million devotees of Our Lady of Nazaré annually, according to the Archdiocese of Belém.
To welcome the Círio, the International Airport of Belém/Val-de-Cans – Júlio Cezar Ribeiro received engers last Tuesday (5/10). The shower of blessings on the aircraft was a tribute conducted by the military firefighters who work at the airport. There were 3 baptisms of aircraft with water jets. The action included flights 4100, from Azul, 3358, from Latam and 1896, from Gol.

To create a festive scene, visitors, after disembarking, were able to contemplate decorative pieces alluding to the Círio, as well as a giant four-meter diameter wheel, all made with miriti, a tropical product from the region extracted from the buritize tree. Actions in Val-de-Cans are the result of a partnership between Infraero and the Secretariat of Tourism of Pará (Setur).
Due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus (Covid-19), the terminal will not be the stage for the traditional pilgrimage.
