Azul doubles the number of flights to Canoas (RS)

Azul announces this Wednesday that it will double the number of flights to or from the Canoas air base, in Rio Grande do Sul. The company put up for sale today a second daily connection between the city of Rio Grande do Sul and Viracopos airport, in Campinas (SP). With the addition, the company will now offer two daily flights, totaling 28 weekly flights, which will begin on June 1st and will be operated by Embraer 195-E1 jets.

Flights to Canoas take off from Viracopos airport at 08:15 am and 13:55 pm, with scheduled arrival at 10 am and 15:40 pm, respectively. The return flights will depart the air base at 11:25 am and 17:13 pm, arriving in Campinas at 10:18 pm and 45:XNUMX pm, respectively.

The company had already reinforced its operations with extra flights to alternative airports in the state, including Pelotas, Santa Maria, Santo Ângelo and Uruguaiana, with departures from Viracopos and Curitiba.

For these operations, the embarkation and disembarkation location will be ParkCanoas Shopping. Azul advises that Customers arrive at the location 3 hours before take-off time, as check-in will close 90 minutes before flight departures.

“With the doubling of the daily flight offer, we are offering another practical and convenient option for Customers who need to travel to Canoas. We know that Rio Grande do Sul is facing a very difficult time, and we understand the concerns and difficulties this brings for everyone. We are working intensely to minimize disruptions and offer effective connectivity solutions during this challenging period”, said Fábio Campos, director of Institutional Relations at Azul.

In addition to adjusting its air network, Azul has played a crucial role in humanitarian aid to Rio Grande do Sul. Since the beginning of aid operations, the company has collected and transported more than 2.600 tons of donations. Of this total, more than 2.000 tons have already been sent through its air network, highways and sea, with from partners and the Brazilian Navy. The company will continue to send donations in the aircraft's cargo compartments on new flights to Canoas.

To continue ing affected communities, Azul created a Social Humanitarian Fund to provide to people impacted by the climate tragedy in Rio Grande do Sul and for future crises. Donations can be made via bank transaction (Banco Itaú, Ag. 0910, C/C 0099704-8, Associação Voar, CNPJ 35094152/0001-85).

With the suspension of activities at Salgado Filho International Airport, Azul announced 110 extra operations for June 2024, relocating aircraft to new routes in Brazil. “Our robust and versatile air network allows us to quickly respond to adverse situations, ensuring the continuity of services at several airports across the country,” added Fábio Campos.
