Boeing points out that China will boost demand for new pilots in Asia

Boeing has released a forecast that the Asia-Pacific region will need 244000 new commercial pilots, or 38% of the pilots needed worldwide.

In addition, Asia will represent around 39% of the global demand for maintenance technicians, or around 249.000 new employees in this area. The region will also for 37% of the global demand for cabin crew, or around 323.000 people.

In particular, Boeing noted that demand in China will be "the most significant". Of the 244.000 new commercial pilots for Asia, China will need 124.000. Southeast and South Asia follow, with 20% and 17% of demand, respectively.

China also leads the demand for technicians and cabin crew. Forecasts for the number of maintenance technicians and cabin crew are estimated at around 124.000 and 150.000 respectively.

Boeing is also predicting that over the next 20 years, airlines across the planet will need 44.000 new aircraft. About 39% of these go to carriers in the Asia-Pacific region.

The manufacturer states that its forecast is linked to the aircraft's delivery projections, taking into the use of the aircraft and the requirements of the crew.
