Brasília International Airport will hold this Saturday, July 15th, the Spotter Day. A unique opportunity for aviation enthusiasts and ionate about aeronautical photography.
Spotter Day is a special celebration for “spotters”, enthusiasts who are dedicated to observing, photographing and recording aircraft in detail. During the event, participants will have privileged access to the airport runway, where they will be able to capture exclusive images of aircraft landing and taking off, in addition to enjoying a unique experience with aviation professionals and several people with the same affinity.
This year, 150 people will have that opportunity. Of these, 47 are from outside Brasilia and are traveling to the federal capital to participate in the event. There are participants from Balsas in Maranhão, Criciúma in Santa Catarina, Manaus in Amazonas, Flores da Cunha in Rio Grande do Sul, Apucarana and Curitiba in Paraná, Contagem in Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, among other Brazilian cities.
This year the event will have the of the Brasília Air Force Base, the Federal District Tourism Secretariat and the Brazilian Association of Airlines (ABEAR). In addition to photographing on the runway at Brasília Airport, the spotters will visit the Air Base, an action in celebration of Santos Dumont's 150th birthday. After the event, participants, especially those from outside the federal capital, will visit the city on a tour offered by the Secretariat of Tourism.
Brasília Airport was a pioneer in this type of action in the country. Spotter Day is an initiative to strengthen ties between the airport and the aviation enthusiast community, providing a unique and enriching experience.
“The event is an opportunity to experience the world of aviation from a privileged perspective. It is a way of showing our work and promoting aviation. This year the experience goes even further, and spotters will be able to visit the federal capital and know that from here they can travel to any corner of the country!”, says Rogério Coimbra, Director of Corporate Affairs at Inframerica.
The event will take place this Saturday, July 15th, starting at 5 am and ending at 11 am. About 70 landings and takeoffs are planned for the morning.
The event complies with all civil aviation safety standards and does not interfere with the regular operation of the airport.
