MInfra pilot project with Serpro and Ministry of Economy has already been applied in five Brazilian airports and in the Congonhas-Santos Dumont air bridge
The Embarque + Seguro 100% Digital project, using facial recognition to identify engers, will soon be tested in at least three more airports in the country: Brasilia, Galeão, in Rio de Janeiro, and Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo. The information was disclosed this Thursday (24) during the for civil aviation at the 2nd Digital Week of the Ministry of Infrastructure.
Developed by MInfra in partnership with Serpro and the Special Secretariat for Debureaucratization, Management and Digital Government of the Ministry of Economy, the project has already been applied so far at the airports of Florianopolis (SC), Salvador BA), Belo Horizonte (Confins), and, more recently, on the air bridge between Santos Dumont (RJ) e Congonhas (SP).
“This project was a dream and is fully in line with the General Data Protection Act. Nobody is obliged to participate. We only allow identification with the express consent of the person and for that we rely on Serpro”, highlighted the general coordinator of Facilitation and Operational Performance of the Secretariat of Civil Aviation of MInfra, Paulo Henrique Possas.
According to Possas, the National Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SAC) is already working on ing airports and airlines to implement the service permanently. With That's because the acceptance of the project by society, airport operators and airlines was so positive that the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) is also advancing in the expansion of the facial recognition project also for crew .
EXPANSION - With the results obtained so far, MInfra is already working on the definitive implementation of the service. At the same time, the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) is studying the possibility of expanding the facial recognition project for airline crews.
“This idea was very well received by the Ministry of Infrastructure. We believe that in the future all accesses, including restricted areas or on the aircraft, will be made using this technology. We will use this technology throughout the entire process. This is the future of civil aviation. In fact, it's the present." pondered the director of the Department of Planning and Management of the Secretariat of Civil Aviation of MInfra, Fabiana Todesco.
HOW IT WORKS - at the time of check-in at the airport, engers are invited to participate in the Embarque + Seguro 100% Digital project. After agreeing, the person receives a message, on the cell phone informed by him, requesting authorization to obtain his data, including F and a photo.
With the consent, the airline attendant, using the application developed by Serpro, carries out the biometric validation of the citizen, comparing the data and the photo, taken at the time, with the government databases.
After validation, the enger is free to enter the departure lounge and the aircraft, ing through the biometric control points, which carry out identification using cameras, without the need for the to present a document and boarding .
