Braspress Air Cargo (BAC), the country's newest cargo airline belonging to the holding company H&P – Empreendimentos & Participações, carried out its inaugural flight from Viracopos-Campinas (SP) to Manaus (AM) – its official operating route – on the morning of this Tuesday (27).
The Organization's CEO, Urubatan Helou, who was present at the occasion along with the Company's Board of Directors, contemplated the milestone and commented on the creation of BAC, which focuses on providing shorter delivery times and which will bring benefits to customers in all regions of the state of Amazonas.
"A wish fulfilled to leave as a legacy to the Brazilian transportation matrix, yet another innovative action by Braspress. Orders that used to take up to 15 days to arrive in the Amazon via the road-river system, from now on, flying in our aircraft and with a small tariff , we will be delivering them to their recipients within a maximum of 48 hours," said Urubatan Helou.
“The volumes that we will transport are already in our business portfolio, where we operate in 100% of the national territory successfully using other modes, but the fact is that we created BAC due to our disagreement that high value-added goods would take so long to reach Manaus”, explained the CEO.
BAC's operations are carried out using two Boeing 737-400s, each with a capacity to transport 20 tons. One of the aircraft will serve as a backup so that, in the event of unforeseen circumstances, the operation can continue.
“More than just a takeoff, this moment and this Company represent our commitment to agility, safety and efficiency in cargo transportation, which is now beginning a journey of transformation. Our purpose is clear: to connect markets, shorten distances and offer reliable logistics solutions,” he concluded.
Braspress Air Cargo will work together with the already consolidated Braspress Transporte Urgentes, which already operates throughout the country with 110 branches and its own fleet of 3.090 vehicles in road, road-air and road-river modes.
