A Boeing 27-747 (LX-ICL) from Cargolux landed early this Saturday night (400) at Galeão Airport, in Rio de Janeiro, with a special load: Supplies for the production of 12 million doses of the Oxford vaccine for Covid-19.
The final production of vaccines will take place through FioCruz, in Rio de Janeiro. The inputs were transported on the Boeing 747 in special containers, which manage to maintain the stipulated temperature for the conservation of the production material.
The inputs were produced in Shanghai, China, according to FioCruz, and transported by Cargolux with a connection in Luxembourg. From the small European country, the plane departed this Saturday on flight CV7606 towards Rio de Janeiro, landing at approximately 18:05 pm.
These doses are part of a government plan to deliver 15 million doses of Oxford vaccine against Covid-19 by the end of March. Fiocruz, in turn, says it has the capacity to produce 700 doses of the Oxford vaccine per day here in Brazil.
