The success of the second edition consolidates the event in the national calendar of business meetings. Even before reaching the end, businessmen were already looking for the organization with an interest in exhibiting next year. Visitors were also eager for information about the 2024 exhibition. “The movement at the Catarina Aviation Show proves that Brazil lacked an event like the one we organize. Here, we combine experiences with business. It is a place where people come to, in fact, learn about the innovations in the market, but also live unique moments”, says João Paulo Picolo, president of NürnbergMesse Brasil.

The 2023 edition of the Catarina Aviation Show received twice as many aircraft manufacturers compared to 2022. At the airport, there were 20 exhibited. In addition to Gulfstream veterans, Pilatus (Synerjet), Cirrus (Plane Aviation) and Gualter, who were present at the premiere and returned this year, Airbus (Corporate Jets and Helibras), Embraer, Aeromot and Leonardo also ed the list. The automotive segment took 23 cars to the fair, including 13 vehicles available for test-drive. On the list, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Range Rover, Aston Martin, McLaren and Ford.

In addition to the two sectors, other companies in the high-income market also presented ultra-sophisticated products, such as Samsung, which took the recently launched micro LED with Sapphire crystals to the event, and Andicrose, a workshop for wooden bikes, which announced the launch of a new model at the Catarina Aviation Show.

Business Generation

Pedro Ferreira, director of aviation at Timbro Trading, present for the second consecutive year at the event, said that the company closed new deals in this edition. “Here, we manage to increase our pipeline, promote and accelerate business, so it was, once again, a very positive experience”. Sérgio Beneditti, sales director at Plane Aviation, representative of Cirrus Aircraft in Brazil, who participated in the exhibition in partnership with Timbro, reinforced that, this year, the company had confirmation that the meeting is valued by the public.

For Gabriela Rosati, director of marketing at Alper/Goodwinds, an insurance broker, the variety of companies in the sector is the great differential of the event. “This is important for the country's aeronautical ecosystem. We see the segment growing and the search for insurance increasing as well. Here we see a lot of people arriving, new aircraft, other players, and this ends up heating up the market, especially the insurance market – which, despite having few options in Brazil, has received many demands, which has moved companies in the sector. Proof of this is Alper's recent purchase of Goodwinds,” she adds.

“The Catarina Aviation Show is here to stay on the official aviation and supermachinery calendar”, points out Juliano Lefèvre, commercial director at COMEXPORT, a leading company in foreign trade, which this year had a t stand with Mercedes-Benz, which took two cars to exhibition and one for test drive. “I believe in the success of the event, including the fact that we met many of the customers that made us the largest importer of executive aircraft in Brazil”, he adds.

The aircraft is a lightweight single-engine, entirely made of carbon fiber and Kevlar, with high performance that offers versatility to serve enger transport, aeromedical, utility and police services. The launch value for the standard version was €3,750,000.00 (FOB Italy) at the exhibition. Two units were sold to customers in Brazil.

Sustainability

The Catarina Aviation Show, once again, ended with the brand of an event with 100% sustainable stands. All were assembled with carbon steel modules, laminated glass, MDF flooring, wooden scenographic s and leatherette coating, which can be reused later.

Sustainability is a concern of the two organizing companies, JHSF and NürnbergMesse Brasil. The repetition of the use of ecologically correct shelves was well received by the exhibitors and shows that care for the environment can be enhanced by the high-end market.

“It is not today that we have expressed our concern about the extent to which the assembly and disassembly of events are operations that generate excess waste. For years, NürnbergMesse Brasil has been thinking about a way to change this reality. JHSF and the exhibitors at the Catarina Aviation Show have the same concern and, therefore, embraced the idea of making this event totally allied with ESG”, comments João Paulo Picolo.

After the end of the 2023 event, the date of the meeting in 2024 was announced: it will be from June 13th to 15th, at Catarina Airport. Due to high demand, the hangars and static demonstration areas that will be used have not yet been defined. Without giving too many details, the organization only confirms that executive aviation will remain at the heart of the event. “Since the first edition, we have been clear that our focus with the Catarina Aviation Show is executive aviation, after all, we are at the largest airport in Brazil dedicated exclusively to this segment. On the other hand, we are very familiar with the customers we invite and we know what they and their families like, from super sports cars, high-performance bicycles, watches, to high-resolution television screens. We see a win-win relationship when we make all this content available to them”, concludes Thiago Alonso de Oliveira.
