The Government of Minas Gerais and the CCR Group signed, this Wednesday (02/02), a concession contract for the Pampulha Airport – Carlos Drummond de Andrade, in Belo Horizonte.
R$ 151 million will be invested in the expansion, maintenance and operation of the space's infrastructure, with the objective of transforming it into the main executive aviation center in the country. The resources will be committed over the 30 years foreseen for the transfer of the terminal.
The space should gain a general aviation terminal, a taxiway system, partial recovery of the runway pavement and preparation for new hangars, improving operational efficiency and the level of services provided, expanding the revenue generation capacity. The expectation is that R$ 65 million will be invested in the first 36 months of operation.
Governor Romeu Zema highlighted the importance of investments in the terminal for the economic development of the region.
“Pampulha Airport is a structure that was underexploited for many years and now, through this concession, this noble area will undergo a transformation. CCR will bring new investments and make improvements to this entire airport structure, not only directly in of flights, but also in tourism and real estate. All of this will help to further streamline this area, which is so important for the metropolitan region of BH. We will be able to have many executive flights here, more cargo handling and more events”, said the governor.
The concessionaire will assume full operation of the airport at the end of the 2nd quarter. Meanwhile, the operational transition phase between Infraero and the concessionaire takes place, as provided for in the notice.
Development
The concession, with a term of 30 years, also provides for the annual payment of a variable concession, which corresponds to a percentage of the gross revenue earned by the concessionaire.
In addition, the project estimates the collection of approximately R$ 200 million in federal, state and municipal taxes during the term of the contract.
The revitalization of the equipment will also bring more comfort and safety to s, in addition to reinforcing tourism in the Pampulha region, in the capital, and the economic development of the surroundings.
The operational gain with the expansion of investments in airport infrastructure and services will directly benefit airport s and has great potential to attract new business in the region.
The Secretary for Infrastructure and Mobility, Fernando Marcato, said that the revitalization will also benefit the public services provided at the airport.
“In addition to its vocation for executive aviation, Pampulha Airport is associated with the Security and Health Forces, which use it in various services. So by providing an adequate infrastructure for an airport like this we are improving the public service. In addition, an airport project like this one in the heart of Pampulha, which has an incredible vocation for business tourism and in general, is fundamental for the development of real estate in the region”, said Marcato.
History
Pampulha Airport was granted to CCR for the fixed grant of R$ 34 million in October 2021, through a public session at the Stock Exchange (B3), in São Paulo. The amount represented a of 245,29% on the established minimum amount (R$ 9,8 million).
