CCR will invest R$270 million in works at Foz do Iguaçu Airport

CCR Airports Foz do Iguaçu Airport engers Fluxo Carnaval

CCR Aeroportos informs that the improvement works at Foz do Iguaçu International Airport (IGU) will begin this September. As of the airport since May 2022, the company is committed to improving facilities, creating better infrastructure for the economic development of the Western region of Paraná and offering a better travel experience to engers.

The announcement of the works was made this Tuesday, September 19th, in a ceremony attended by the governor of the State of Paraná, Carlos Massa Ratinho Jr; the mayor of Foz do Iguaçu, Chico Brasileiro and the CEO of CCR Aeroportos, Fábio Russo, as well as state secretaries, deputies and other representatives of CCR Aeroportos in the South Block.

The work aims to increase operational safety, optimize aircraft service capacity and provide a more comfortable and modern environment for engers. The total investment is estimated at R$270 million.

 

The planned structural interventions are as follows:

– Adequacy of RESAs (runway escape areas) to current legislation
– Three new aircraft aprons with capacity for 13 C positions, divided into 6, 3 and 4 positions per apron.
– Renovation and expansion of the enger Terminal with new connectors for access to the boarding bridges.
– Relocation of interferences.
– Construction of Cargo Terminals.

Furthermore, the project will contribute significantly to the local economy, generating around 250 direct jobs during the construction phase. The improvements to the airport will be delivered by the end of 2024. Throughout the construction period, CCR Aeroportos will strive to minimize inconvenience to engers and will maintain transparent communication about the progress of the work.

“In addition to all its representation for the economy of Paraná, as it is a production hub in the western region of the state, Foz Airport connects Brazilians and tourists from all over the world to the Iguaçu Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. These interventions that will be carried out will further raise the standard of the airport and strengthen its role as an important element for the economic and tourist development of the region”, says the CEO of CCR Aeroportos, Fabio Russo.

Improvements at 15 airports

In addition to Foz do Iguaçu Airport, CCR Aeroportos simultaneously carries out infrastructure improvement works at 14 other airports that are under its istration in Brazil: Goiânia (GYN), São Luís (SLZ), Imperatriz (IMP), Teresina (THE), Petrolina (PNZ), Palmas (PMW), Curitiba (CWB), Londrina (LDB), Bacacheri (BFH), Navegantes (VNT), ville (JOI), Bagé (BGX), Pelotas (PET) and Uruguaiana (URG). The company contracted to perform the services is HTB Engenharia e Construção. The works at all these airports are expected to be completed by the end of 2024. The total investment is R$1,8 billion. Around 2,3 direct jobs will be created.
