Cebu Pacific orders 70 A321neos

A Cebu Pacific, from the Philippines, made an official request to Airbus for 70 A321neo aircraft, concluding a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) announced in July. The agreement was signed in Manila by the CEO of Cebu Pacific, Mike Szucs, and EVP of Sales at Airbus, Benoît de Saint-Exupéry.

Currently, the Cebu Pacific operates 61 A320 Family aircraft across its vast regional network. In addition, the airline uses nine aircraft widebody A330 on high-density routes in the region and to destinations in the Middle East. With the recent order, the company’s order book Cebu Pacific with Airbus now totals 94 A320neo Family aircraft and seven A330neo.

The A321neo, being the widest version of the A320neo Family of Airbus, was developed to offer high performance and range.

Thanks to the new generation engines and Sharklets, the A321neo features a 50% noise reduction and fuel savings of over 20%, as well as reduced CO₂ emissions compared to previous single-aisle models.

To date, the aircraft has more than 6.500 orders for the A321neo placed by more than 90 customers around the world.
