General aviation pilots flying near Las Vegas from February 7-12, 2024 should be aware of temporary flight restrictions during the event. Therefore, there are a series of special air traffic procedures, as well as additional operational requirements that will come into force for the Super Bowl LVIII.

Information about Las Vegas area airports and airspace is available on the FAA Super Bowl, which will be updated regularly as additional information becomes available.

Special procedures for the following airports:

  • Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)  
  • North Las Vegas Airport (VGT) 
  • Henderson Executive Airport (HND) 
  • Boulder City Airport (BVU) 

Reservation for parking aircraft

A reservation program to facilitate aircraft parking will be in effect from February 7th to 13th. Pilots should the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at their airport for reservations and additional information.

The FAA provides a video series so pilots can familiarize themselves with Las Vegas area airports. These videos show actual runway approach and images of the airport taxiway, combined with visual diagrams and graphs to identify critical points and other safety-sensitive items.

Likewise, the FAA will issue a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) for Super Bowl LVIII centered at Allegiant Stadium. The TFR is likely to be active from 14:30 pm to 20:30 pm local time on Sunday, February 11th. The TFR will have a 10 nautical mile inner core and a 30 nautical mile outer ring.

10 nautical miles = 18.52km

30 nautical miles = 55.56km

The game will begin at approximately 15:30 pm local time.

Drone-free zone

Super Bowl LVIII is also a drone-free zone as it is a designated National Security Special Event. Therefore, additional restrictions on unmanned aircraft will be in effect before, during and after the game. In this sense, the FAA will make more accurate information available in February.
