Embraer and Cairo-based CIAF Leasing have signed a firm order for three E190 aircraft. The order is valued at US$161,4 million, based on current list prices, and will be added to Embraer's fourth-quarter 2019 backlog.

The three aircraft will form part of CIAF's current fleet of three E170 jets, two of which are leased by Jasmin Airways and the other by Air Cairo. CIAF is also due to receive two E195 jets in mid-November.

“The three new E190s will be an excellent addition to our growing fleet of E-Jets. With a fleet of E170, E190 and E195 aircraft, CIAF will have the flexibility to offer both of our lease customers, with or without crew, a service that exactly meets their needs,” said CIAF Leasing Chairman and CEO, Hassan Mohamed.

“CIAF is rapidly expanding its leasing presence, with and without crew, adding more aircraft to its fleet, in addition to establishing its own AOC (Air Operator Certificate) in June of this year. It is an honor to work with a company that is strengthening itself by taking advantage of the benefits that an aircraft family can offer,” said Raul Villaron, Middle East and Africa Sales Director, Embraer Commercial Aviation.

All three aircraft will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2020, with a livery displaying the new CIAF visual identity.
