Clandestine transport vehicle is seized at Guarulhos Airport

Last Wednesday (16), the City of Guarulhos seized and took to the yard a black Chevrolet Cruze vehicle, which was illegally transporting engers at Guarulhos International Airport.

The Secretariat for Transport and Urban Mobility (STMU) has intensified inspections with the aim of curbing what is popularly known as trawling engers.

According to STMU transit agents, clandestine drivers usually deceive s who seek transportation with false advantages and benefits, which puts the safety and lives of engers at risk.

According to the portfolio holder, Luigi Lazzuri Neto, the seized vehicles, in addition to not having any registration with the municipality, mostly have irregular documentation and their drivers have criminal records.

“These races usually do not end well for the enger, who, due to naivety or possible advantage, risks embarking on a journey into the unknown”, highlighted.

STMU operations, together with the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM), the Military Police, the EMTU and the Civil Police, take place outside the airport and seek to safeguard the security and constitutional rights of s of the municipal public transport system. In the internal part, where the approaches also occur, the GRU Airport concessionaire is responsible.
