Close to bankruptcy, Jet Airways declares suspension of all flights

Jet Airways announced the total suspension of its flights from this Thursday (local time), after the company did not enter into an agreement with banks for financing to maintain its operations.

With no cash, the company was unable to pay the costs to carry out its flights this Wednesday (17/04), and has already started to suspend its flights from 18 pm (local time).

The company was suffering in recent days with the withdrawal of planes from its fleet, which forced the cancellation of thousands of flights. In financial crisis since 2018, the company tried to reach an agreement with creditors, who even expelled the president and founder of Jet Airways.

The airline will inform all engers of the temporary suspension of flight operations via text message or email to the details listed in their reservations.

The company has already operated with around 120 aircraft, but started this week with approximately 25 aircraft in its fleet. Before the crisis, around 15 employees worked at the company.

At its peak, the company served 57 different destinations, and its international network reached 15 countries.

In a note the company said:
