On October 29, Iberia engers who boarded one of the last Airbus A350-900s delivered to the company were surprised when boarding the aircraft when they realized that the plane was without business class seats.
Despite the unusual 'novelty', the lack of business class seats is justified by the high demand for supplies in post-pandemic aircraft production, a fact that has disappointed Iberia and other companies.
Apparently, some of the newest @Iberia_en Airbus A350-900s were delivered without business class due to seat supply shortages. Therefore, the planes are now flying with these blocked seats and ballasts for weight and balance.
I had never seen this before. Cringe. 🫣 https://t.co/fKLLtL8M1L

Although some engers purchased tickets to fly in Executive class, Iberia ended up reallocating them to Economy.
To compensate for the aircraft's envelope, Iberia chose to place Economy seats, balancing the weight of the aircraft, however, photos on social networks show that seat belts were used to indicate that the seats were prohibited.
