Geven SuperEco seats

Geven, an Italian company that manufactures aircraft seats, has unveiled a new product aimed specifically at Low Cost/Low Fare airlines, the “SuperEco”.

ADVERTISING

This is a new lightweight seat, and focused on configurations with 28 to 29 inches of space between rows, always with three seats per set. The company has already designed the seat to provide more knee room in higher-density aircraft configurations.

Weighing only 7,9 kg, for three seats, to Geven he also says that his seat helps airlines save fuel on the aircraft.

For comparison purposes, a seat Recaro SL3510, popular on low cost airlines, weighs 9 kg (19,8 lbs) and is currently one of the lightest economy seats on the market.

Each kg reduced is multiplied by 60, for a 737 or A320 aircraft with 30 rows, therefore, it can represent a considerable amount of money saved for the company over the years of operating an aircraft.

As we can see in the photos above, the company has also given minimal thought to ergonomics and comfort, even while saving weight and creating “room” for the legs.

The table is a little higher, and foldable, there is no fixed cup holder, and the safetycard has been placed in the upper part of the seat, to reduce the thickness of the seat net located in front. The armrests are movable, and are flush with the seat to allow more space for the enger on a low-occupancy flight.

Despite this, we do not find a mechanism for reclining the seats in this “super light” configuration, only in other Geven products.
