O OTP Performance Awards, airport and airline punctuality performance report, published by Cirium, a company specialized in aviation data, recognized Aeroportoo de Confins – BH Airport as the sixth most punctual in the world in 2022, in the medium scale airports category.
In the world ranking, BH Airport represents Brazil with the OTP (On-Time Performance) of 87,93%, following Guararapes-Gilberto Freyre International Airport, in fourth place, with an OTP of 88,95%.
The Japanese International Chubu Centrair has maintained the first place. The airport achieved a rate of 94,21%. Also Japanese, Sendai Airport, with 91,44% punctuality, and Kagoshima Airport, with 89,74%, took second and third place in the ranking, respectively. “Against the challenges imposed by the post-pandemic economic scenario, we continue to evolve, committed to offering the best experience to engers, maintaining operational efficiency and high performance in punctuality”, emphasizes BH Airport’s Director of Operations and Infrastructure, Herlichy Bastos .
“Strengthening ourselves as a connection hub – a flight distribution center ready to shorten distances and bring people together, we closed the year with the movement of around 10 million engers and 50 destinations served, between domestic and international flights”, he reinforces. “For 2023, we are forecasting an annual movement of 11,3 million people, returning to pre-pandemic levels”, he adds.
Cirium's reports are designed based on accurate information and analysis of the performance of airports and airlines, with the objective of guaranteeing the reliability of the data presented in the On-Time Performance Report. In each report, airport results are classified into four categories: global, large, medium and small scale.
The Japanese lead the ranking: Haneda Airport was the winner in the global category, with 90,33%. Osaka International Airport scored 94,06% in the large category. On a small scale, who took first place was Miyazaki Airport, recording 93,29% performance.
