The novelty arrives in Minas Gerais, improving the travel experience of engers with direct flights to Colombia, tourist-cultural cradle of historic cities, such as Medellín and Bogotá, and the paradisiacal Colombian Caribbean, in Cartagena.

The new route already has a date to start operating: March 26, 2023, with five weekly flights, at three times, to better meet the needs of different audiences. The direct connection between Belo Horizonte and Bogotá will be operated by Avianca, which has already made ticket sales available through the company's website and app. Marketing is also being carried out at physical points of sale or travel agencies.

Departure options on the Belo Horizonte-Bogotá route include the schedules at 17:25 pm, on Wednesdays and Sundays; 9:05 am on Tuesdays and Saturdays; and 1:25 am on Fridays. The Bogotá-Belo Horizonte route offers flights at 7:20 am, on Tuesdays and Saturdays; 22:30 pm on Mondays and Fridays; and 14 pm on Thursdays. The new route between Brazil and Colombia will be operated in aircraft of the A320 family, with capacity for up to 180 engers. Avianca also expanded the direct connection from Bogotá to Manaus (AM), with four weekly flights, starting in March 2023.

“On the other hand, engers who take advantage of the new Bogotá-Belo Horizonte route will be able to be enchanted by the natural riches of Minas Gerais, enjoy a unique and irresistible gastronomy, visit relevant tourist attractions, recognized as national and world cultural heritage, promoting the economic development of the state, while business and tourism”, adds the CEO at Invest Minas – Agency for the Promotion of Investment and Foreign Trade of Minas Gerais, João Paulo Braga.

“From now on, people from Minas Gerais will have the opportunity to fly with the new Avianca offer for everyone”, reinforces Avianca commercial manager for Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, Gustavo Esusy, highlighting the ease of boarding . “Brazilians do not need a visa or port to travel to Colombia; only RG and proof of international vaccination against yellow fever”, he points out.

In addition to the news for Brazil, which also includes the direct operation between Guarulhos and Cartagena, Avianca announced the new routes that connect the cities of Boston (USA) and Tegucigalpa (Honduras) to Colombia in 2023, noting that the immediate connection of flights from Bogotá to Boston directly serves the entire mining community in the capital of Massachusetts.
