Copa Airlines announced that it has received authorization for the twenty-one (21) aircraft that had been temporarily grounded, following the Airworthiness Directive issued by the United States Federal Aviation istration (FAA), complete the necessary rigorous inspection process and can resume operations under the highest safety standards.
The inspections are being carried out by professional technicians from Copa Airlines, following the highest quality standards and with monitoring and supervision by the Civil Aviation Authority (AAC) of Panama. We estimate that this process will be completed within the next 24 hours.
Copa Airlines will gradually reactivate, starting this Thursday, January 25, 2024, flights that had previously been canceled, until returning to a full itinerary on Sunday, January 28, 2024. Additionally, we are offering new options for engers whose itineraries have been impacted:
- engers who confirmed a new travel itinerary They can change to a new flight at no additional cost if they wish.
- engers who don't have a new travel itinerary yet confirmed after canceling the original flight can choose a new flight by ing the customer service center or ticket store, airport or travel agency.
- engers whose tickets are already in refund process and wish to travel must purchase a new ticket.
The airline reinforces the recommendation to its engers to check the status of their flight on copa.com or in the app before heading to the airport. Copa Airlines reiterates that its top priority is the safety of its engers and crew, thanking everyone involved for their understanding while the situation returns to normal.
