With less than two months since his first flight on March 10th, Dassault's new executive jet, the Falcon 6X, has already secured yet another cabin design award. The twin-engine won the Red Dot: Best of the Best for its Cabin Design.
Dassault Aviation s Apple, Porsche, Audi and other famous brands that have been recognized by the Red Dot award. The organization noted that this year it received an unprecedented number of nominations from more than 60 countries for the award that showcases innovative work in product design.
In a statement celebrating the award, the French manufacturer says the Red Dot committee recognizes the exceptional combination of form and function demonstrated by the Falcon 6X's cabin design.
The committee determined that the cabin's flow lines and environmental engineering created a unique, healthy and productive environment offering a new level of comfort and personal space.
The organizers were also impressed by the clean, modern lines of the interior, the interior layout and the little touches that commercial jet engers especially love: easy-to-use hand controls, the 6X's innovative skylight and ambient lighting designed to withstand natural circadian rhythms.
The Red Dot award is the second design award that Dassault has received for the 6X cabin. In September 2020, 6X won the International Yacht & Aviation Award, sponsored by design et al, the famous UK design magazine published by The Design Society.
On pace to enter service in 2022
The Falcon 6X's flight test program continues to gain momentum towards certification, scheduled for 2022. The 6X has accumulated more than 50 hours in the air and opened flight addressing all the way to the aircraft's maximum operating speed of 0.90 Mach.
“For its brief time in the air, the aircraft demonstrated excellent handling in various flight scenarios and showed unusual maturity in the functioning of the systems,” recalled flight test pilot Bruno Ferry.
A second aircraft will the test program in a month's time and a third, equipped with a complete interior, before the summer.
With a range of 5.500 nautical miles, the 6X can travel non-stop from São Paulo to Paris or New York, Los Angeles to Moscow or London to Hong Kong.
It is capable of flying long distances from short, restricted runways. The aircraft is equipped with the latest version of Dassault's renowned digital flight control system, which offers unparalleled flight safety and precision.
