Aircraft safety! This is how you can define the in-flight inspection activity of Brazilian air force (FAB). And, to highlight the importance of the activity, the Air Space Control Department (DECEA) carried out, on Thursday (10/11), the military graduation ceremony of the flight inspection course, in a solemn session held at the Institute of Air Space Control (ICEA), in São José dos Campos (SP).
The Commander of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), Lieutenant-Brigadier of the Air Carlos de Almeida Baptista Junior, the General Director of the Department of Airspace Control, Lieutenant-Brigadier of the Air João Tadeu Fiorentini, the Director- General of the Aerospace Science and Technology Department, Air Lieutenant-Brigadier Maurício Augusto Silveira de Medeiros; in addition to FAB officers and civil and military authorities.
“The main function of DECEA and the Air Force is responsibility for air navigation safety and this involves all links in the system. The importance of this service provided by the FAB lies in being faithful to the reality that brings security to s, engers and system operators. This has a very relevant importance for our country”, highlighted the General Director of DECEA, Lieutenant Brigadier Fiorentini.
On the occasion, Captain Aviator Caroline Pedretti Gonzaga, first place in the course, with a final average of 10, received the diploma of completion. “It is an immense satisfaction to be part of such a select group that has contributed greatly to the safety of air navigation in our country”, she said.
The ceremony was also marked by the delivery of the title of Honorary Inspector Pilot to the Commander of the FAB, Lieutenant-Brigadier Baptista Junior, to the President of the Commission for the Implementation of the Airspace Control System, Major-Brigadier of the Air Sérgio Barros de Oliveira and the Director of the Galeão Aeronautical Material Park, Brigadeiro Engenheiro Alexandre Arthur Massena Javoski.
The Commander of the Special Flight Inspection Group (GEIV), Lieutenant Colonel Aviator Bruno Michel Marcondes Alves, when delivering the Honorary Inspector Pilot badges, described the activity and highlighted its importance for the safety of aircraft in circulation in the country . “The in-flight inspection activity is an Air Force mission responsible for ensuring the quality of operation of all air navigation aids and procedures in Brazil, which are used by military and civil aircraft, national and foreign. The inspector pilot's responsibility, as a technical authority, is to keep all these aids working,” he concluded.
