Since the start of the pandemic, Delta has strived to put its professionals and customers first by making vaccines readily available. This, in combination with financial incentives such as an additional day off with pay and $100 of health rewards, has allowed the company to inoculate nearly 70% of its people by June 2021.
In addition, Delta Air Lines organized a lottery for immunized employees that has already awarded more than $1 million, with all these incentives, the company quickly increased its immunization rate to 74%.
Now, Delta has increased its employee vaccination rate to 82% in the three weeks following the announcement of a $200 monthly fee on health insurance for unvaccinated workers.
With all the incentives for employees, Delta has also reinforced the existing protection measures on board aircraft, such as the mandatory use of masks and air filtration in the aircraft cabin.
Delta emphasizes mandatory vaccination and recognizes that there is more work to be done. These additional steps are aimed at increasing the company's immunization rates and ensuring the continued safety and well-being of its employees, many of whom have been with the company long before the Covid-19 pandemic.
