Delta will hire 3000 flight attendants by summer 2022

Delta expects to hire 1.500 safety and customer service professionals to the 2021/2022 class of flight attendants.

These opportunities are added to another 1.500 vacancies that the company is already filling with candidates who went through the hiring processes before the pandemic, in early 2020.

In all, the airline will have 3000 new flight attendants serving customers on flights from the summer (Northern Hemisphere) of 2022.

What does it take to be a Delta flight attendant?

At a minimum, applicants must have a high school diploma or GED (General Educational Development, an assessment carried out in the United States that proves that a person who did not attend high school has sufficient knowledge to continue their studies), possibility of working in the United States, speak English fluently and be at least 21 years of age by January 1, 2022.

Prior to the training start date, all newly hired flight attendants (including current Delta employees who have been accepted into the training program) must be vaccinated.

Professionals also need to be available to fly international and domestic routes and be flexible because Delta flights operate day and night, year-round.

With a global network spanning more than 300 destinations, Delta is also looking for candidates who speak the language of some of the destinations the airline flies to and who are fluent in English and one of the following languages: Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Czech, Danish, Japanese and Hebrew.

You will stand out if you have:

  • At least one year of experience working in personalized customer service, patient care or similar role.
  • Experience in a role that ensures the safety and/or care of others.

The top priority of all Delta flight attendants is ensuring the safety and comfort of all customers by providing exceptional service.
