O The Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution, in Washington DC, will have one more aircraft that was part of the North American aviation and that will be exposed, it is the strategic bomber and for electronic warfare, EA-6B Prowler.
The move of the EA-6B Prowler to the air museum in Washington is directly linked to the deactivation of the Marine Squadron dedicated to Tactical Electronic Warfare 2 (VMAQ-2), which was decommissioned last week. With the deactivation of this squadron, the belonging aircraft, such as the EA-6B Prowler, were also decommissioned.

The aircraft that was on display at the museum took off from the MCAS Cherry Point Naval Air Base and headed for Dulles International Airport, where the bomber museum is located.
The EA-6B Prowler was introduced into the Marines Corps in 1971, over 170 aircraft were built before production ended in 1991. The aircraft was used in combat in the Vietnam War.
The EA-6B Prowler retirement process began in 2016 and continued in the following years, ending with the VMAQ-2 Squadron this year.
