Israel's largest airline, EL AL Israel Airlines, today signed an agreement with Boeing to acquire up to 31 737 MAX aircraft. With this, the carrier reinforces its fleet, composed exclusively of Boeing aircraft, allowing the expansion of its aircraft operations narrow body and the renewal of older models.
“This is a significant milestone for EL AL, which will allow us to offer our customers the most advanced technology and service experience in the industry. The implementation of the long-term procurement plan, which began with the purchase of an additional 787 Dreamliners earlier this year and culminates in the current agreement, once again demonstrates our commitment to the Israeli public and the state.” Declared the company's CEO, Dina Ben-Tal Ganancia.
This year, the airline placed an order for three Boeing 787-9s and secured options for six more aircraft. She hopes to receive two Dreamliners later this year, with two more scheduled to arrive by lease In the next years.

While some airlines have suspended flights to Israel, many others are diverting their routes to avoid flying over risky areas, citing safety concerns.
Several US and European airlines, such as Delta, United, Lufthansa, KLM e Wizz Air, extended the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv. Warnings have also been issued to avoid Iranian and Lebanese airspace due to security risks, forcing operators to divert their routes over countries such as Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
