Embraer and FAB begin studies for special mission platforms

Embraer and the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) announced the start of collaborative studies to identify potential platform adaptations for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (IVR) missions. The platforms to be used are already operational in the Brazilian Air Force, such as the C-390 Millennium.

“The Brazilian Air Force constantly monitors its ability to fully fulfill missions in the current context, while at the same time looking at future challenges and the evolution of technologies. Studying the adherence and adaptability of Embraer platforms to the future challenges of IVR missions is a natural path to maximizing commonality and technological autonomy”, points out Air Lieutenant General Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, Commander of the Air Force.

The t studies will allow the expansion of the portfolio of solutions to meet the operational needs in Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions of the FAB and potential international customers. This is another important step in the long-term relationship between Embraer and FAB.”, states Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security.

The announcement took place at the International Air and Space Fair (FIDAE), with the presence of Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security; and Air Lieutenant General Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, Commander of the Air Force.
