In a few days to Embraer and Flapper will start testing a new technology of urban transport in Rio de Janeiro. With normal helicopters, the Brazilian manufacturer wants to acquire data on how the air traffic with several flying vehicles will be, as if the helicopters operated in the model expected for the eVTOLS.

And to encourage demand, the two companies are selling helicopter flights between Galeão Airport and Barra da Tijuca starting at R$99, a price equivalent to the same ride with an Uber Black during normal hours, for example.

The action between the two companies, which have the participation of partners such as Helisul, which ordered the eVTOLs from Embraer, will take place from November 08th to December 06th. It is worth noting that flights are shared.

On their website Flapper says: “In a few years, the eVTOL, Eve's electric aircraft, will inaugurate a new means of transport in the skies over Rio, much faster, cleaner and more accessible. And you can anticipate this experience, with super discounted rates!”

The Eve Rio Experience has 2 Meeting Points, where you can board: at RIOgaleão Airport and Mario Henrique Simonsen Business Center, in Barra da Tijuca.

At these meeting points, you can see what the eVTOL will be like, through an immersive Augmented Reality experience.

Dimensions of the eVTOL designed by Eve, an Embraer subsidiary for urban vehicles. Propulsion is fully electric.

To buy your ticket between the two points of Rio de Janeiro and test this experience is very simple. Access the website eve.flyflapper.com ou book directly in the Flapper app, available for Android and iOS.

In all, there are six daily flights available and carried out with helicopters from Helisul, an air taxi company that is assisting in the development of this technology. The Urban Air Mobility operation has the of ANAC and DECEA, which controls the Air Space and are part of this study of new technologies.

Embraer's electric eVTOL that has hundreds of orders abroad

No video below we can see some of the work carried out by Embraer to develop the necessary technologies. A good part of this project is taking place in Brazil, at different Embraer facilities.

The project is called EveAirMobility, related to the name of the new company created by Embraer (Eve Urban Air Mobility Solutions) to develop the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) ecosystem.

Eve is developing a complete portfolio of solutions to prepare the UAM market and ultimately benefit people's lives, including the development and certification of the company's electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle, a comprehensive network of and associated services and the creation of urban air traffic management solutions.

Embraer is leveraging the expertise of Embraer and Atech, a subsidiary of the Embraer Group, in providing world-renowned air traffic management software to create the solutions that will help safely scale the UAM industry going forward.

At the end of this race for the future, Embraer already has more than 600 order proposals and several partnerships to develop its eVTOL.
