Embraer announces the appointments of Ron Baur as Director of Strategy and Hussein Dabbas as General Manager of Special Projects for the Middle East & Africa.
The executives the commercial aviation unit to reinforce Embraer's global Marketing and Sales team and will report starting today to Arjan Meijer, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of the business unit.
Ron Baur brings to Embraer more than 25 years of experience in acquiring mainline and regional aircraft for one of the world's largest airlines.
Prior to ing Embraer, Ron held senior positions in Operations and Finance at Continental and United Airlines before becoming Vice President of Fleet for United Airlines. During his tenure, he managed a fleet of more than 1.200 mainline and regional airline aircraft and worked on the acquisition of more than 750 new aircraft.
Ron was responsible for launching aircraft such as the Boeing 787, 737-900ER, 737MAX10, Airbus A350-1000 and a version with a series of aerodynamic improvements of the Embraer E175. Since 2016, he has been a member of the Wings Club, an association based in New York that brings together distinguished professionals from the aviation sector.
Hussein Dabbas s Embraer bringing 40 years of solid corporate experience in the aeronautics sector, having held several global leadership positions.
At Royal Jordanian Airlines as Chief Executive Officer, President and Board Member, he managed all commercial and enger activities including Marketing and Sales, Airport and Inflight Services, Catering and Products.
As Regional Vice President for Africa and the Middle East of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), he helped promote and protect the interests of the air transport industry. He is a member and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Arab Jordan Investment Bank.
