Embraer starts building a factory in Florida – USA.

Embraer announced today that it has begun construction operations at the facilities in Florida with to build the new Legacy 450 and 500 executive jets, the new facilities have 236.000 square meters and are expected to be ready by 2016, the new facilities have 4 buildings , including an assembly hangar, a painting facility, a flight completion and preparation center facility, and a new distribution center. It is also planned to hire 600 new employees to work at its base in the USA.

At the Melbourne factory, located on the outskirts of Melbourne International Airport, Embraer already has a production line for the small Phenom executive jet. These new installations add an even greater range of products offered by Embraer directly in the US and also provide greater to existing operators in the country.

The Legacy 500/450 is an almost completely new project, which the first flight was made in November 2012, this new Legacy line has a Honeywell engine as a differential from the other 600/650 that have Rolls-Royce, in addition to a brand new cockpit, with Full Fly By Wire commands, instead of levers it has Joysticks for control and new and large screens.
