Embraer confirmed that it closed an agreement for the supply of materials in the defense sector to the company, this includes ground-use radars, datalink system and Super Tucano aircraft (A-29). The contract system is ideal for border monitoring, with a variety of radars and light attack aircraft.
The executive president of Embraer Defense and Security, Jackson Schneider, did not directly declare who the client would be, he limited himself to saying that it would be a developing country. The first aircraft produced is estimated for 3 years from now.
At the Singapore Airshow, Embraer is demonstrating a Super Tucano that would be the “production standard”, the strategy is to get customers in Asia, which is a place of great demand for the defense segment. Recently, Embraer Defense delivered A29 units to Afghanistan and received an order from Indonesia for 16 A-29s.
According to correspondents at the fair, visitors are very interested in the KC-390 project, which Embraer has been developing together with the FAB, thanks to the flexibility and modernity of an aircraft of this type.
