Seeking to attract more customers to its executive jet, Embraer announced a version of the Legacy 450 with an extended range of over 602 km. The already certified version of the 450 will still be offered in the purchase options.
Embraer also exemplifies the possible new non-stop routes that the Legacy 450 could make with a new range of 5371 km, such as San Francisco to Hawaii, New York to Dublin and New York to Los Angeles, for example. To achieve the new range, a few wing modifications will be required to accommodate more fuel. The changes also include updates to the Fuel Control Unit, avionics and flight manual. The increase in autonomy will be compatible with the first series aircraft that do not have the extra fuel tanks.

“The Legacy 450 was designed to be a revolutionary executive jet in the mid light category. Now, we've decided to go the extra mile to meet requests from customers who want transoceanic reach in a best-in-class cabin,” said Marco Tulio Pellegrini, President and CEO, Embraer Executive Jets. “The increased range expands the aircraft’s operational capability without compromising certified performance.”

The Legacy 450 is the first executive jet of its class equipped with a full fly-by-wire electronic flight control system, sidestick and the Rockwell Collins avionics suite. Pro Line Fusion with four 15,1-inch high-resolution LCD flat screens, in addition to features such as Jeppesen charts and electronic maps. The options include the Embraer Enhanced Vision System, which contains the HUD and the Enhanced Vision System, which is the mapped view of the terrain.
