Embraer officially inaugurated today a new portal at the entrance to its main industrial complex, the Ozires Silva Unit, in São José dos Campos-SP. The action is part of the celebrations of the company's 55th anniversary, which was created on August 19, 1969.
Eight meters wide, the new entrance highlights a historic EMB-110 Bandeirante aircraft suspended 10 meters high, which was previously in an internal area of the company and was repositioned for permanent exhibition closer to the public road that gives access to the factory and to the city airport.
The architectural design that increases security and comfort in accessing the company also interacts with the local landscape, allowing viewing of the external public and strengthening the connection with the community.
Embraer's first factory, which in 2021 was renamed “Ozires Silva Unit”, in honor of the engineer and former Air Force officer who led the group of visionaries responsible for creating the company in 1969, was the production site for the company's historic aircraft. company such as the Bandeirante, Xavante, Ipanema, Xingu, Brasília, Tucano, AMX, the ERJ-145 family and executive jets. Currently, it mainly focuses on the development, manufacturing and activities of commercial jets from the E-Jets E1 and E2 family.
