Embraer forecasts demand for 60 new commercial aircraft with fewer than 150 seats in Malaysia over the next 10 years

In its 2021 market outlook, Embraer forecasts demand for 60 new commercial aircraft with fewer than 150 seats in Malaysia over the next 10 years.

Driving this demand is the opportunity for aircraft with less than 150 seats to complement the larger aircraft prevalent in the country and improve the feasibility of establishing new routes or increasing the frequency of existing routes. This includes increasing direct connectivity within Peninsular Malaysia, as well as connectivity between Peninsular cities and East Malaysia (Sabah and Sarawak).

“We believe in the multiplication potential of domestic and regional connectivity in Malaysia. It's a win-win situation: domestic tourism thrives and engers can travel to new destinations in the comfort of a modern commercial jet,” Meijer said.

Incorporating the new technologies and improved operations of the E-Jets E2 is an important step on the path to a more sustainable aviation industry.”

It entered into operation at the end of 2019, after the type certification of the three main regulatory authorities in the world – the FAA (Federal Aviation istration of the United States), EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) and ANAC (Brazilian Aviation Agency). Civil).

Currently, the aircraft is operated by KLM, which has 53 Embraer E-Jets in its fleet, by Azul, which operates 55 E-Jets and flies to more than 100 destinations in Brazil, in addition to airlines in Switzerland, Spain, Belarus and Nigeria.
