Embraer shares close down on negative investor outlook

Embraer

Embraer shares on the Bovespa (EMBR3) closed this Monday with a 1,34% drop, quoted at R$19,18, amid negative movement among investors regarding the disclosure of the financial result for the first half.

This negative perspective on the company is justified by the lower than expected numbers of aircraft deliveries during the second quarter of 2018, something that could significantly impact the company's revenue and profit.

Analysts expect Embraer to have revenues of R$5,83 billion for the period between April and June, second quarter of 2018. In the same period last year, Embraer recorded general revenues of R$5,70 billion, but contrary to what has been showing in recent quarters, the company's profit was positive.

In the second quarter of 2018, Embraer delivered 48 aircraft, accumulating 78 deliveries in the first half of this year. In the executive aviation segment alone, 20 units were delivered during this period, of which 15 were light jets and five were large jets.

As of June 30, the backlog of firm orders to be delivered totaled USD 17,4 billion, something that must have significantly increased after the Farnborough Airshow.

Embraer maintained financial and delivery estimates for 2018.
