In 2019, during a visit to Brazil, the Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, General Serhiy Drozdov, flew the FAB Super Tucano in Wing 5 (Campo Grande), the headquarters of the Flecha Squadron (3rd/3rd GAv), one of the four FAB units that use Embraer's attack turboprop. In October of the same year, Ukrainian pilots flew the A-29 in Portugal.

Since then, Ukraine, which is carrying out a reform of its armed forces in the period 2021-2035, has shown interest in the EMB-314. Developed by Embraer in conjunction with the Brazilian Air Force, the A-29 Super Tucano is armed with a pair of .3 caliber FN M50P BMG machine guns and can carry a variety of armaments, including bombs and conventional or guided rockets and air-to-air missiles. short-range weapons such as the AIM-9 Sidewinder.
The aircraft is in service with multiple countries including Colombia, Afghanistan, United States, Indonesia, Philippines and others.
