One day after promoting the Brazil Experience roadshow in New York – with 180 representatives, 90% of which are local trade -, Embratur met with the Brazil-United States Chamber of Commerce, this Friday (24/06), at the American city.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss t actions to encourage tourism in Brazil, in addition to attracting new business to the country.
The Brazil-United States Chamber has more than 250 d companies – Brazilian and American – and is responsible for organizing conferences and promoting events, in which relationships are established between players from both countries, strengthening partnerships and attracting investments.
“Our focus is to induce new business for tourism and ensure that more travelers and investments are attracted to Brazil”, said the president of Embratur, Silvio Nascimento, after the meeting with the president of the Chamber, John Welsh.
Still in New York, president Silvio Nascimento met with American Airlines director for Brazil and Uruguay, Alexandre Cavalcanti, with an eye on the possibility of expanding connectivity between Brazil and the United States, with a greater frequency of daily and weekly flights, including the opening of direct routes to the Brazilian northeast.
The destination is among the most sought after by Americans, who tend to prefer the beaches for their holidays.
A American Airlines committed to carrying out a study and submitting a proposal on the feasibility of starting to operate these flights, which would gain notoriety in the United States through an exclusive Embratur campaign aimed at new destinations.
The Agency's president also met with the representative of the international newspaper Financial Times, Alessandre Siano, to present Embratur's actions and discuss opportunities for publicizing Brazil through advertising and holding events in American territory.
“Our objective is to show the world the reality of Brazil and all that we have to offer”, said Nascimento.
