Eve Air Mobility has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Helicopters Inc., a leading U.S. helicopter operator, for up to 50 electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The order, which includes aftermarket services from the Eve TechCare portfolio and Vector, Eve’s Urban Air Traffic Management (Urban ATM) software, was announced at the Revolution.aero Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) conference, where Eve participated in discussions on how to and expand the future of air mobility.

“We appreciate Helicopters Inc.’s confidence in purcha to 50 of our eVTOLs,” said Megha Bhatia, Chief Commercial Officer at Eve. “Helicopters Inc. is a recognized leader with safe operations in more than 30 U.S. metropolitan areas, and we are thrilled to have them as a customer. We look forward to working closely with them to integrate our all-electric aircraft into their extensive operations in the country.”

The partnership between Eve and Helicopters Inc. began in 2022 with Eve’s piloting of an urban air mobility enger and aircraft journey simulation in Chicago. In collaboration with Blade Inc., the companies simulated eVTOL operations using a Helicopters Inc. helicopter to transport engers from the Chicago Vertiport to two heliports in the greater Chicago area: the Schaumburg Municipal Heliport and the Tinley Park Heliport.

“Eve’s maturity and reliability, combined with Embraer’s solid reputation as one of the world’s largest commercial aircraft manufacturers, were decisive in our selection,” said Tom Wagner, president of Helicopters Inc. “eVTOLs offer advantages such as competitive operating costs, fewer parts and optimized systems, in addition to reduced noise pollution and environmental impacts.”

Eve and Helicopters Inc. will continue to collaborate on defining launch cities, aircraft maintenance requirements and, with the of partners, planning the infrastructure needed for safe and efficient operations. Applications include airport transportation and point-to-point connections in the U.S.

As part of the agreement, Helicopters Inc. will gain access to Eve TechCare, a complete portfolio of solutions to optimize eVTOL operations, with comprehensive services, expert technical and cutting-edge operational capabilities. The agreement also includes Vector, AAM’s Urban ATM software that is adaptable to meet current and future needs.

Eve’s eVTOL uses a Lift + Cruise configuration with dedicated rotors for vertical flight and fixed wings for cruise flight, with no change in the position of these components during flight. The aircraft features an electric thruster powered by dual electric motors to ensure the highest levels of performance and safety.

Last year, Eve revealed that its first eVTOL factory will be established in the city of Taubaté, São Paulo. The company has LOIs for nearly 3.000 eVTOLs with customers across multiple continents.
