Eve Air Mobility (Eve), a manufacturer of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and a global provider of services for urban air mobility (UAM), and Signature Aviation, the world’s largest network of private aviation terminals, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to investigate the ecosystem requirements as well as ground services needed for safe, efficient and scalable Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) operations.
“Following the launch of our first full-scale prototype, we continue our eVTOL development and are excited to collaborate with Signature Aviation to the aircraft’s operations,” said Luiz Mauad, Eve’s Vice President of Services, Operational Solutions, Strategic Design and Ecosystem. “Eve and Signature will leverage our companies’ combined global footprint and expertise in aircraft maintenance and creating seamless enger experiences. Signature Aviation’s insights into ground handling needs, local knowledge, private aviation terminal operations and enger services will inform the processes and ecosystem needed to accelerate the launch and expansion of eVTOLs.”
The agreement brings together two experienced and important companies in the global aerospace industry: Eve’s expertise as an eVTOL manufacturer and Signature Aviation’s global network of private aviation terminals. As part of the MoU, the two companies will also explore potential future commercial partnerships.
“The announcement of our partnership with Eve caps a transformative year for Signature, while also reinforcing our commitment to shaping the future of aviation through our sustainability initiatives,” said Derek DeCross, Chief Commercial Officer, Signature Aviation. “We are always looking to the future to develop and deliver exceptional experiences for our customers, and working toward the most comprehensive ground infrastructure for eVTOLs is an important part of that mission. This collaboration will bring together our expertise, resources and creativity to find the most effective path to innovative, safe and scalable ground operations for AAM.”
In addition to the MoU, the two companies have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for Vector, Eve’s urban air traffic management software. Vector will be an agnostic software solution designed to address current and future urban air traffic management (ATM) challenges for AAM operations. Vector will efficient and scalable fleet and vertiport operations, enabling operators to adapt as the industry grows. The company is moving toward an operational release of the software so customers can experience it and collaborate on how it will advance the market.
Eve recently announced the launch of Eve TechCare, its fully integrated aftermarket services portfolio for efficient and safe urban air mobility operations. Eve TechCare is a complete portfolio of solutions to optimize eVTOL operations, with comprehensive services, expert technical , and cutting-edge operational capabilities. Embraer’s 55-year history and expertise in the aerospace industry uniquely positions Eve to serve its customers. With global coverage and local presence, the aftermarket portfolio encomes a variety of services, including technical , MRO solutions, materials and battery management, as well as training and flight operations solutions. All of these capabilities will be available to operators through an integrated digital platform. Eve TechCare service and solutions will cover all operational aspects required to ensure the daily operation of the eVTOL.
With letters of intent (LOI) for 2.900 eVTOLs, Eve’s aircraft utilizes eight dedicated rotors for vertical flight and fixed wings for cruise flight, with no change in the position of these components during flight. The concept includes an electric thruster powered by dual electric motors that provide propulsion redundancy to ensure the highest levels of performance, safety, dispatchability and low operating costs.
