Result of a project SIRIUS Brazil Program, the data link communication tool between pilots and air traffic controllers, DLC, will be inaugurated simultaneously at the Third and Fourth Integrated Air Defense and Air Traffic Control Centers (CINDACTA III and IV), respectively in Recife (PE) and in Manaus (AM).

The activation focuses on specific sectors of the Flight Information Regions (FIR) of Belém and Recife, controlled by the Amazon Area Control Centers (ACC-AZ) and Recife (ACC-RE) and will bring great benefits to communications , such as complementing the current VHF system through the use of a data link between on-board and ground systems above flight level 245, also allowing for increased operational safety, reducing misunderstandings in aeronautical communications by providing a means no noise or interference.

The inauguration ceremony will feature the words of the director general of DECEA, Lieutenant-Brigadier of the Air João Tadeu Fiorentini, by the head of the Technical Subdepartment (SDTE), Brigadeiro Engenheiro Dalmo José Braga Paim and the commanders of CINDACTA III and IV, respectively Colonel Aviador Edson Luiz Vieira Neto and Colonel Aviador Alexander Santopietro de Souza.

The first to use the system was an Airbus A350 from Iberia (EC-NBE), which is on a flight from Santiago to Madrid. View flight tracking Clicking here.
