The 2855 took off from Lisbon this morning (09) and landed in Warsaw (Poland) after a flight of just over four hours. At the Polish airport, 11,6 tons of humanitarian aid materials were unloaded.

According to the FAB, the humanitarian aid sent to Warsaw contains 50 water purifiers, of national technology and manufacturing (with a combined capacity to purify around 300 liters of water per day); 50 voltaic kits with solar to supply the equipment with energy autonomously; ten tons of dehydrated foods with a high nutritional content (400 meals); and five medicine kits for medical emergencies, coming from public stocks managed by the Ministry of Health, without compromising the national supply.

Around 14:15 pm, the 68 engers boarded, including 42 Brazilians, 20 Ukrainians, five Argentineans, and one Colombian. Eight dogs and two cats were also shipped.

Now, the KC-390 of the Zeus Squadron (1st Troop Transport Group) has already started its return to Brazil. The military freighter took off from the Polish capital at 14:33 pm, and should arrive in Lisbon around 18:40 pm.

Called Operation Repatriation, the interministerial action is carried out between the Justice and Public Security (MJSP), Defense (MD), Foreign Affairs (MRE) and Health (MS) portfolios.

“This mission is also proof of our Air Force's responsiveness. From the beginning, we were able to make these two planes available, as well as others if necessary, with the characteristics of reaching faraway places. So this is another real mission where we have proven the use of airpower in war and peace.”, said Lieutenant-Brigadier Baptista Junior, commander of the Air Force, as the aircraft departed for the mission.
