The “All United for the South” campaign, launched on 30/04 by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), reached the milestone of 1.500 tons of donations received at the Brasília, Galeão and São Paulo Air Bases. The community was invited to participate in the action, donating clothes, mattresses, drinking water and non-perishable foodstuffs.
“We have opened three Bases to receive donations and, in the coming days, other Bases will also be activated. We reached the milestone of 1.500 tons of donations in less than a week. The campaign is growing a lot with the involvement of various bodies and, especially, the population. This shows the strength of our society, the strength of Brazilians”, highlighted the Air Force Commander, Air Lieutenant-Brigadier Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno.

The transportation of donations is being done daily, with destination to Canoas Air Base (BACO), using FAB aircraft, such as the KC-30, from the Second Squadron of the Second Transport Group (2nd/2nd GT) – Corsário Squadron, and the KC-390 Millennium.
FAB has worked on several fronts to flood victims in Rio Grande do Sul. The actions began on April 30th, with rescues of stranded people and extended to health care, transportation of rescue teams and materials, donation collection campaign, coordination of aerial resources and others.
Among FAB assets, 17 aircraft, more than 1.300 soldiers and 90 vehicles are involved. The missions are carried out from the Air Bases of Santa Maria (BASM), Canoas (BACO) and Florianópolis (BAFL).
