“Following the ongoing events in Eastern Europe, we have taken the decision to suspend Russian participation in the Farnborough International Airshow 2022”, announced the organizers of the English event in a statement. “Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine and everyone affected by the current situation. We continue to await a timely and peaceful resolution.”

In 2018, the Farnborough Airshow was attended by state-owned companies from Russia, such as Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCA) and Irkut, presenting their SSJ-100 and MC-21 aircraft, respectively. Military planes were banned by a 2014 decision due to the invasion of Ukraine in that respective year.

FIDAE, on the other hand, banned Russian companies through an official note from the Chilean Government, the main er of the event.

The Chilean event takes place next month, between April 05th and 10th, while the Farnborough will take place between July 18th and 22nd this year.
