Federal Government hands over works for improvements and expansion of Maringá Regional Airport

The Municipality of Maringá and the Ministry of Infrastructure, of the Federal Government, officially announced the conclusion of the works of improvement and expansion of the Regional Airport of Maringá. The ceremony took place yesterday afternoon, the 1st, at the Francisco Feio Ribeiro Exhibition Park, bringing together local, state and federal political authorities.

On the occasion, the mayor of Maringá, Ulisses Maia, highlighted the importance of maintaining an airport in the city capable of receiving international flights and cargo aircraft, which meets one of the objectives of the current istration, which is to internationalize the name of the city and stimulate new promising businesses through imports and exports involving companies from Maringa.

For the Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio de Freitas, he informed that the next step is to invest in expansion works in the enger terminal of the Regional Airport of Maringá.

EXPANDED TRACK – Maringá Regional Airport now has the second largest runway in the State of Paraná and conditions to receive larger aircraft, in addition to national and international cargo flights.

Thanks to investments in the order of BRL 81,5 million, from Federal Government resources, through the Ministry of Infrastructure and municipal counterpart, works at the Regional Airport of Maringá began in 2019, involving expansion and modernization of the runway and the patio, in addition to the implementation of modern air navigation aid instruments (ALS and ILS).

After the expansion and modernization, the airport in Maringa is ready to receive larger aircraft and also an even greater volume of cargo flights, which meets one of the aspirations of the Ulisses Maia Management, which is to internationalize the “brand” Maringá, stimulating business and partnerships with other countries and favor imports and exports by the local private sector.
