The ranking winners were announced this Saturday (28.10.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) at a special event in Athens, Greece. The World Luxury Travel Awards, a division of the World Luxury Awards, celebrates the best hotels, operators and travel companies from around the world. Flapper won the award for “Best Private Jet Company” in South America.
The 17th edition of the World Luxury Travel Awards (WLTA) was hosted at the Grand Hyatt Athens in Greece and saw 213 establishments from around the world awarded for their dedication and commitment to the luxury hospitality industry. Before the Gala Ceremony, guests were treated to a tour of Athens and a contemporary dining experience.
For the first time, Flapper, a leading company in air charter contracting technology, entered the exclusive list of the British association. Through voting, it won the “Jet Charter Company” category for South America, being one of four companies in the category awarded worldwide. Other related categories included helicopter tours, luxury travel agency or yacht rentals.
“Today’s travelers increasingly value experiences over possessions and are willing to invest in unique, authentic and engaging travel experiences. It is with the unwavering commitment of a dedicated team that guests can enjoy this. We congratulate the 2023 winners, who worked hard and tirelessly to succeed in a very competitive industry.”, says the event's official press release.
The WLTA ranking is considered the barometer of global growth in luxury travel and ranges from South America to Australia. According to Jana Stoman, Executive Director of the rankings, “Many factors play a role in determining the winner; brand, design, unique facilities and overall traveler satisfaction, as per through online reviews, as well as what is reflected in the votes received during the annual three-week voting period.”
In the last two years, Flapper grew 320% in gross revenue and reached the mark of 30 thousand customers served. The company, which was already highlighted this year in the EXAME Expanding Business and the MIT Under 35, was the only representative of the national industry in the 2023 ranking.
Flapper's CEO, Paul Malicki, states that this year's recognitions are in line with the company's ongoing effort to create the company's global brand and product. “We have the right team to build a product with a truly global reach, but highly focused on Latin American markets. We consider this region the next frontier of luxury travel due to the greatest biodiversity on the planet and the underexplored regional market.”, he states.
With offices in Brazil and local operations in South America, Mexico, Florida and Portugal, Flapper is widely considered one of the largest and most technologically advanced jet and helicopter booking platforms in the world. Through its proprietary inventory and mobile app, the company features a complete air charter offering, including private jets, corporate planes, helicopters and turboprops.
More than 1.700 aircraft with up-to-date maintenance and safety certifications are available on the Flapper platform. Last year, Flapper entered the exclusive list of the American aviation security company ARGUS as the first broker in the Southern Hemisphere certified for charter flights around the world.
