An event with the participation of public authorities and guests celebrated this Tuesday (8) the homologation of the Florianópolis International Airport to operate as Road Equipment (EAR).
A term of commitment was signed by the CEO of Floripa Airport, Ricardo Gesse, and the Secretary of State for Infrastructure and Mobility, Thiago Vieira. The document authorizes the airport concessionaire to provide intercity road transport service, directly connecting engers between the airport and the main tourist destinations in Santa Catarina.
The area destined to the operation of the bus lines is next to the airport terminal. It consists of an intermodal space where licensed transport companies will be able to operate regular road lines between the airport and different cities in Santa Catarina. There is expectation for the start of road routes as of the high season this year.
According to Gesse, the initiative will boost the economy by making the direct road connection with cities such as Balneário Camboriú, Itajaí, Blumenau, Garopaba, Imbituba and Criciúma, for example, more convenient and quick. Other cities can also be contemplated, according to demand.
“The flow of engers has grown continuously and gradually. We are about to operate the widest network in the history of Florianópolis International Airport this season. In this sense, the intermodal terminal will facilitate the direct road connection between air engers and municipalities in Santa Catarina without having to leave the airport”, explains the CEO of Floripa Airport.
According to Gesse, by facilitating displacement and quick change of modes, Floripa Airport intends to advance in the offer of services and in the continuous increase of satisfaction.
engers departing and arriving, whether by bus or plane, will have all the infrastructure and amenities already available in the airport environment, such as food courts, shops, spaces to relax, parking, WiFi, restrooms, security and various services.
The Secretary of Infrastructure, Thiago Vieira, reinforced the importance of adding different modes at the airport, which is the gateway to the state.
“We are making intermodality between air and road transport possible, facilitating travel, reducing travel time and providing more comfort for those arriving and leaving Santa Catarina through Floripa Airport”, points out Vieira.
With state homologation and the adequate structure, road companies will be able to qualify — upon approval by the Infrastructure Department — to operate regular intercity lines.
Florianópolis International Airport – Hercílio Luz is rated as the best in Brazil according to the General enger Satisfaction Survey. On the eve of an intense season, with more than two dozen direct national and international routes, the Floripa Airport team and partner companies have organized themselves to guarantee the best service experience to those who circulate through the complex's facilities.
