flyEgypt Boeing 737 blows tires on landing in Romania

A flyEgypt Boeing 737-700 blew out all four main landing gear tires when landing in Romania on 15 October. The aircraft registration SU-TMM was flying FT-3103 from Hurghada, Egypt, to Cluj-Napoca Airport, Romania, with 113 people on board. Nobody got hurt.

According to Aviation Herald, the Cluj tower observed sparks and flames coming from the aircraft as it touched down on runway 25 at 19:12 (local time). The aircraft came to a stop approximately 1.028 meters from the threshold, with all four main tires blown.

The Cluj runway was closed until the wheels were changed and the aircraft towed to the apron, returning to flights the next day. 

The SU-TMM is 13 years old and served Air Berlin and Germania under registration D-ABLB before arriving at flyEgypt, according to information from the planespotters.net.
